Yes, all Elite 12ppm printers are fully compatible with Mac OS 9, providing that you have the following versions installed on your system:
Mac OS 9 Apple LaserWriter driver v. 8.7 Desktop Printer Utility v. 1.2
You should setup the printer using the Apple LaserWriter 8 driver via the Chooser or by using Apple’s Desktop printer Utility. You should also make sure that you have the correct GCC printer description file installed and selected in your operating system. NOTE: If your 12ppm model has a USB port, and you are using it to connect the printer to the Mac, you must have:
Mac OS 8.6 or higher Apple Laser Writer driver v. 8.6.5 or higher Desktop Printer Utility v. 1.2
For a USB connection, you would need to setup the printer via the Apple Desktop Printer Utility, not the Chooser.
